Expectations: I expect students to be on their best behavior. They need to come to class prepared, to be respectful to others, to raise their hand, and to obey school and classroom rules.
Earbuds or headphones: students need them for daily activities.
I provide one homework folder. If it is lost, the student is required to bring one from home. We are fortunate that many materials are provided by the District. See the home page for more information on what to bring.
Homework/assignments: The parent handbook discusses homework at length. Your child will have homework each day, except for Fridays. Homework is due the day after it is assigned, at the beginning of class. Homework is an extension of class requirements and assignments and must be completed in order for each child to have the opportunity to do work without the help of his/her classmates or teacher.
Parents should always check homework and sign the assignment planner daily.
Backpacks: Please help your student keep track of his/her belongings by making sure all backpacks, jackets, etc., are clearly labeled with his/her name. Toys, CD players, electronic devices, etc., are not permitted at school.
Ways you can help: You can help your children succeed by holding them accountable for their actions. You can aid them by making sure they get plenty of rest and nutritious foods. Read to and with your child. Have your child memorize math facts. Practice keyboarding skills. The 3rd grade benchmark is 10 words per minute with 98% accuracy. (4th =15 wpm, 5th= 20 wpm, 6th=25 wpm).
