We want our class to be peaceful, responsible, respectful, and well-behaved. For some,
these things comes naturally. For others, well...... it needs some work.
By the time students enter grade three, they are beginning their fourth year of
formal schooling if they attended kindergarten. Students know how to behave and
what is expected of them. We frequently review classroom rules and practice
[rocedures daily. Time spent redirecting undesired behaviors results in a loss of learning.
What are specific ways students can be peaceful, responsible and respectful?
peaceful--raising hands when wanting to speak; using a tone of voice appropriate for the task
responsible--being prepared with all classroom materials (sharpened pencils,
library books that travel between home and school); assignments completed;
being accountable for one's actions.
respectful--treating others the way you want to be treated
